Historical Jonesboro Helps Preserve the Past

Preserving Clayton County is what Historical Jonesboro/Clayton County Inc. is all about.
The nonprofit volunteer organization has spent the last 40 years dedicated to the preservation of the region’s history and heritage.
The group hosts tours each week, showcasing several interesting sites.
Those sites include an 1839 Greek Revival antebellum home known as Stately Oaks, as well as the log kitchen used on the property, a well house and tenant house. Other points of interest in Clayton County include Juddy’s Country Store and the region’s last one-room schoolhouse. For more on the area’s history, go to www.historicaljonesboro.org.
